Other cities have bacon festivals. Why not Tulsa?
We like bacon.
We really like bacon.
So, save the date for Baconfest from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 29 in the Pearl District on Fourth Street between Peoria and Utica avenues.
Baconfest Tulsa is an outdoor event that will feature small plates and tastes of bacon-based cuisine, sweets and beverages from some of Tulsa’s finest chefs, bakers and baristas.
And they are all competing for the title of Boss Hog of BaconFest Tulsa 2013.
Along with an all-inclusive tasting pass, guests will receive goodie bags filled with vendor specials, recipes and bacon-themed swag.
Guests can also compete for titles and prizes of their own in our amateur bacon cooking contest, bacon haiku contest and bacon look-a-like contest. Yes, a bacon look-a-like contest.
And it’s all for a good cause. Sponsorships and entry fees will go to capital improvements for Nightingale Theater and Midwestern Theater Troupe.
Tickets at the door cost $25 and advance tickets cost $20
Here are the participating food venues and more are joining the fun daily.
Andolini’s Pizzeria, Baxter’s Interurban, Ann’s Bakery, Rusty Crane, Joe Momma’s, The Tavern, The Phoenix, Fassler Hall, Back Alley BBQ, McNellie’s, Kupcakz Bakery, The Deco Restaurant Group, Mangiamo Truck, Lick Your Lips Mini-Donuts, Dugan Jacks Smokehouse, SMOKE on Cherry Street.
